Maranatha is excited to welcome Alisa Childers as this year’s Women’s SummerBreakaway keynote speaker on July 18, 2024. Alisa is a wife, mother, worship leader, and inspiring author, who has become a voracious voice in contemporary Christian apologetics. Formerly of the award-winning CCM group ZOEgirl, she now speaks at major Christian events and captivates tens of thousands on her popular YouTube channel where she delves into critical discussions on faith and culture. In addition to being featured in the eye-opening documentary American Gospel: Christ Crucified, Alisa’s influence resonates through her prolific writing for The Gospel Coalition and The Christian Post, among others. As a devoted wife and mother, Alisa brings a heartfelt and genuine perspective to all her endeavors, making her one of the most authentic and relatable figures in Christian media today.

The Sessions:

Session One: “Nothing Better Than the Real Thing”
Discover the essence of historic Christianity through Alisa’s journey from a faith crisis to reaffirmation of her deep-seated beliefs.

Session Two: “Spiritual but Not Religious”
Explore the modern face of New Spirituality that has infected the Christian church. Alisa will decode New Age’s contemporary guise and offer a biblical perspective and how to counter this troubling trend.

Session Three: “How to Be a Mama Bear Apologist”
Learn how to nurture a Christian worldview in your children in a culture that has become deeply secularized. This will be a practical and engaging session that will be life-changing for many.

Our Missionary Speaker is a police wife, mother to two daughters, women’s ministry leader, and the co-founder of TACTICA Ministries, Gretchen Rought. Over 17 years ago, Gretchen and her husband Ryan moved to Costa Rica to establish TACTICA, a Christian non-profit organization that ministers internationally to police officers and their families. Gretchen’s contagious energy empowers her commitment to authentic relationships while teaching others and discipling new believers. Gretchen will share her heart and passion for the Gospel and her love of ministering in crisis response and trauma counseling.
