Speaker Schedule
Each summer, Maranatha features compelling speakers and mission groups to feed and inspire our guests and members. We take great care to invite speakers who will bring both expository and topical subjects for the week’s teaching. Learn more about our featured speakers and missions below.
Week One
June 22-29

Brad Bigney
Brad Bigney is a pastor with the Evangelical Free Church of America and holds an MDiv. from Columbia Biblical Seminary. He’s a certified ACBC counselor, conference speaker, Lead Pastor of Grace Fellowship since 1996, and author of Gospel Treason. He and his wife, Vicki, have been married 37 yrs. and have five adult children and two grandchildren.

Roy Patterson
Roy Patterson is a broadcaster, worship leader, preacher, and soloist. He came to Christ in when he was 14 years old. He immediately developed a love for God’s word. During high school he led an afterschool Bible Study for his peers. He studied broadcasting at Moody Bible Institute. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and Trinity International University. He is the host of Music for Sunday. He is also a host on UrbanPraiseRadio.org. He has been married to Lynette for 40 years and has 3 adult children. He has 3 grandchildren. They are the most wonderful grandchildren in the universe!

Week Two
June 29 – July 6

Dr. Mark Jobe
Dr. Mark Jobe, Moody Bible Institute’s tenth President, is the founding pastor of New Life Community Church, a multiple-campus ministry in Chicago. In 2005, Dr. Jobe founded New Life Centers that provide programs for such issues as gang violence, unemployment, and teen pregnancy. He is also the author of Unstuck: Out of Your Cave into Your Call and hosts the daily program “Bold Steps” on Moody Radio.

Joe Stowell
Joe Stowell has held pastorates in the mid west and has served in presidential roles at the Moody Bible Institute and Cornerstone University. He presently serves as Global Ambassador and Special Assistant to the President at Moody. He is the author of several books including Simply Jesus, The Weight of Your Words, Strength for the Journey and Leadership Redefined and speaks at conferences both nationally and internationally. Joe serves on the boards of CURE Intl, ELIC and International Aid. He and his wife Martie enjoy the privilege of three children and ten grandchildren.

Tim Sisk
Tim Sisk grew up in Japan as a missionary kid and then as an adult served in Church planting and theological education in Japan and Bolivia. He received a BA at Tennessee Temple University, a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary, and DMin from Fuller Theological Seminary. Currently, he is a professor of intercultural studies at Moody Bible Institution. His professional and personal interests include Church Planting, History of Missions, and Global Theology.

Week Three
July 6-13

Walt Willey
A former Walk Thru the Bible seminar instructor, chaplain of the Atlanta Braves, and founder/president of Winning with Encouragement Ministries, Walt Wiley speaks and teaches regularly in various settings. His style is motivational, inspirational, Biblical, practical and peppered with lots of humor. Walt and his wife Patti live in Charlotte, NC, and have two grown sons.

Eric Moore
Dr. Eric Moore is a Professor of the Applied Theology Department at Moody Theological Seminary-Michigan. He is also the Pastor and co-founder of Tree of Life Bible Fellowship church located in Royal Oak, Michigan. Along with his weekly teaching and preaching duties, Eric speaks regularly at local churches, venues and conferences in greater Detroit and around the country. He has a weekly radio program (Food for the Soul) which broadcasts every Sunday morning on station WLQV in the Detroit Metropolitan area. Eric and his wife, Marilyn, have been blessed with 3 adult children whom love and serve Jesus; Chanel, Samuel and Christina.

Send International’s Mission is to mobilize God’s people and engage the unreached in order to establish reproducing churches.
Week Four
July 13-20

Rod Van Solkema
Rod VanSolkema is the founding and senior pastor at Crossroads Bible Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is also the founder of Ancient Path Study Tours. In addition to being very invested in the local church and its mission, Rod is extremely passionate about bringing people to the lands of the text. His hope is that by having people walk the story in community while studying its culture and context that people will gain a rich understanding of the text and gain a vision for discipleship. Currently, Rod leads trips to Israel and study tours that include Turkey, Greece and Rome. Rod has an undergraduate degree from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois and completed his seminary work at Trinity University in Deerfield, Illinois. In addition, Rod has spent time in Israel attending and completing graduate work at Jerusalem University College. Rod lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife and three children.

Philip Miller
Philip Miller is the 17th Senior Pastor of The Moody Church in Chicago. Philip holds a B.A in Pre-Seminary Bible from Cedarville University (’04) and a Th.M. in Pastoral Leadership and New Testament Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary (’10). His wife, Krista, also holds a B.A. from Cedarville University and a Th.M. degree from DTS. They have four children: Claire, Violet, Cora, and Jude. Philip enjoys cycling, Garrett’s Caramel Crisp popcorn, Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza, and craft root beer.

Week Five
July 20-27

Rob Rienow
Rob married Amy in 1994 and they have been blessed with 7 children, and two grandchildren. His most important ministry is loving his wife and leading his children to know God and love Him. He attended Wheaton College, then completed an MA in theology at Wheaton College Graduate School, an MDiv from Trinity International Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Rob’s life dramatically changed in 2004. God brought him to a place of deep repentance over the fact that he was discipling other people’s children, but not his own. He was a spiritual leader at church, but passive with his family. Through that time of repentance, God turned his heart to the ministry of his children and his wife. God then led he and Amy to launch Visionary Family Ministries, a ministry designed to inspire parents and grandparents to disciple their children, to help couples create mission driven-marriages, and equip churches to build Bible-driven ministries. He partners and consults with numerous churches, encouraging them to accelerate evangelism and discipleship through families. Rob has served as a pastor and church planter and is the author of numerous books including Visionary Parenting, Visionary Church, and Healing Family Relationships. Andrew M. Davis
Dr. Andrew M. Davis is the senior pastor of the First Baptist Church of Durham, NC and the founder of Two Journeys Ministry. He holds a BSME from MIT, a MDIV from Gordon-Conwell, and a Ph.D. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a visiting professor of church history at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Council Member of The Gospel Coalition, a former Trustee of the International Mission Board. He is the author of An Approach to the Extended Memorization of Scripture, An Infinite Journey, Revitalize, Christ Centered Exposition: Exalting Jesus in Isaiah, The Power of Christian Contentment, and The Glory Now Revealed. He and his wife Christi reside in Bahama, NC.

Week Six
July 27 – August 3

Charles Price
Charles Price is Minister at Large with The Peoples Church, Toronto, Canada, where he was Lead Pastor from 2001 to 2016. The weekly congregation doubled to over 4000 attending each Sunday during his time there. Originally from England, he grew up in Herefordshire and for many years he was involved in the ministry of Capernwray Hall, a bible school, conference grounds and evangelistic center in North Lancashire. Whilst at The Peoples Church he had an hour-long television programme, Living Truth, broadcast coast to coast in Canada each week, as well as in more than 70 other countries, in a variety of languages. He also had a daily 30 minute radio program broadcast in Canada and several other countries. He has preached in over 100 countries on every continent and is the author of 8 books, some of which have been translated into a variety of languages. Charles is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, cited as being for services to humanitarian need, having raised several millions of dollars through his television programme for global mission projects in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and India. He is married to Hilary and they have two daughters, one son, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, six grandchildren, and their family is scattered in several parts of the world. Brady Nemmers
Since 2013, Brady has served as the lead teaching pastor of Keystone Community Church in Ada, Michigan. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and hold a Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary He is passionate about communicating the story of God in a way that is relevant, engaging and applicable. He and his wife, Sarah Anne, share a love for the land of the Bible and are honored to lead study trips to Israel. They live in Ada with their four boys (Carter, Parker, Colton and Wilson), two dogs, three cats and four chickens.

Week Seven
August 3-10

Steve DeWitt
Steve’s has serve as Bethel Church’s senior pastor since 1997. His primary responsibilities are teaching, shepherding the people, leading the staff, serving as an Elder, and providing overall vision for the church.
Steve’s passions include expository preaching, the doctrines of grace, helping the church engage its culture, and the beauty of God. He often speaks in contexts outside Bethel and enjoys traveling as a part of Bethel’s global mission efforts.
In addition to weekends at Bethel, Steve’s teaching ministry can be heard through Bethel’s media ministry The Journey. This program airs on Moody Radio FM Chicago with a half hour program each Sunday morning at 11:00. A short format can also be heard on Moody radio each weekday morning.
Steve released his first authored book in 2012 entitled Eyes Wide Open: Enjoying God in Everything.

George Murray
George Murray is a missionary at heart. He and his wife, Annette, along with their four children, were engaged in pioneer evangelism and church planting for 13 years in the spiritually needy country of Italy. For the next 17 years, he directed two missionary organizations: Bible Christian Union (330 missionaries in 14 countries of Europe) and The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM, with 1,100 missionaries in 42 countries worldwide). Following his leadership and experience in the field of missions, he assumed the leadership of Columbia International University (CIU) in Columbia, South Carolina, first as CIU’s President (2000 – 2007), and then as CIU’s Chancellor (2007-2017). Columbia International University specializes in training people for Great Commission service around the world. George has traveled and ministered all across the United States of America and in 83 other countries. He has been happily married to Annette since 1969, and their four children (all married) have blessed them with nine grandchildren (8 boys and 1 girl). George is a graduate of CIU (B.A., 1967; M.A., 1981) and Trinity International University (D.Miss, 1995). Annette is a graduate of CIU (B.A., 1969) and Biblical Theological Seminary (M.A. in Theology/Counseling, 1995). George loves good music (all genres), reading, hiking, fishing, and playing tennis.

One Way Ministries
One Way Ministries’ mission is to activate people to exalt Jesus Christ and advance His gospel to the multitudes.
Week Eight
August 10-17

Matt Lucas

Bill Crowder
Bill Crowder has recently retired the Our Daily Bread Ministries staff. He continues to write for the Our Daily Bread devotional and has written many Bible study booklets for ODBM’s Discovery Series. He has also published a number of books with Our Daily Bread Publishing, the latest being Wisdom for Our Worries and Gospel on the Mountains. Bill also serves as a co-host with Mart DeHaan, Elisa Morgan, and Daniel Ryan Day on the “Discover the Word” daily radio program, heard nationwide. On the personal front, Bill and his wife, Marlene, have been married for over 40 years and have five adult children and a growing legion of grandchildren. To relax, Bill enjoys playing golf whenever possible, and follows sports, especially the English Premier League’s Liverpool Football Club.

Daniel Day
Daniel Ryan Day is a family man, Bible teacher on Our Daily Bread’s flagship radio show, and podcaster on Discover the Word. He also serves Our Daily Bread Ministries as the Senior Director of Reclaim Today and is the author of the book Ten Days Without, a book raising awareness for global social needs, and What’s Next, offering hope and practical wisdom for those struggling to determine their next step in life. He holds a Master’s Degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and serves as a pastor in the Anglican Church of North America. His favorite day is anytime he is smoking barbeque and boiling maple syrup. He and his wife Rebecca live in Michigan and have three children.

Dr. Stephen Nichols
Dr. Stephen J. Nichols is president of Reformation Bible College, chief academic officer for Ligonier Ministries, and a Ligonier Ministries teaching fellow. He is host of the podcasts 5 Minutes in Church History and Open Book. He has written more than twenty books, including Peace, A Time for Confidence, and R.C. Sproul: A Life and volumes in the Guided Tour series on Jonathan Edwards, Martin Luther, and J. Gresham Machen. He is coeditor of The Legacy of Luther and general editor of the Church History Study Bible.

CURE International
CURE’s mission is to reach and heal more children living with disabilities like clubfoot, bowed legs, cleft lips, untreated burns, and hydrocephalus. We do this through a global network of pediatric surgical hospitals that serve children.
Getaway Week
August 24-30

Daniel Batarseh
Daniel Batarseh is the pastor-teacher at Maranatha Bible Church. While living in Canada and pursuing a degree in Creative Advertising (2012), Daniel sensed the call to ministry shortly after being born again. Through God’s providence, he was led to Chicago, Illinois to serve as a young adult pastor, teaching the Bible twice a week while studying at Moody Bible Institute for his Masters in Biblical Studies. It was through a series of events and God’s clear timing that led Daniel and others with him to begin Maranatha Bible Church in 2021.

Ed Moore
Ed Moore has served as pastor of North Shore Baptist Church in Bayside (Queens), New York, since 1992. A native of DuBois, PA, he briefly attended the University of Pittsburgh, and graduated from the University of Georgia. Ed earned his M. Div. from Columbia International University, Columbia, SC. Ed and his wife, Anna, have four children and eight grandchildren.
