This is Our Time to Rise!

We have sought God as a ministry and believe now is the time to increase the size, scope, and versatility of our campus. This expansion will position Maranatha to continue our legacy of faithfulness as we approach a century of ministry to do even more:

  • More mission groups sharing their impactful stories and raising funds to further the Gospel.
  • More families finding a sanctuary for respite and spiritual renewal.
  • More individuals discovering faith in Christ through bold and passionate preaching.
  • More youth finding hope, love, and safety in an uncertain world.
  • More churches and organizations enjoying high-quality affordable accommodations for fellowship and connection.

Our vision is big, but our faith in God is greater. We invite you to join us on this extraordinary journey, which is unfolding in three key phases.

PHASE 1   |   PREPARE + ENHANCE

              PHASE 1   –   PREPARE + ENHANCE

Teen and Office Center

This modern, dynamic, and open facility will be the core of our teen and middle school programs It will also serve as the new location for ministry offices and a major hub for retreat opportunities in the off-season. The plan is to demolish the South Africa building and commence rebuilding in time for the 2024 season. God has already provided the funding for this first project!

2o24-2o25 – Est Cost: $2m

Tabernacle Renovations

A mainstay of our history, the vision is to preserve the core of the building, particularly the stage area, while incorporating year-round climate control, improved comfort, and enhanced security and safety measures. These renovations will balance preserving the spirit and history of this remarkable facility and enabling Maranatha to expand its ministry. The initiation of this project will commence with funding, hopefully in the 2025-2026 timeframe.

Coffee Shop + Bookstore

The Coffee Shop and Bookstore offer a unique opportunity for Maranatha to serve guests and the local community. The combination of a coffee shop and bookstore will greatly enhance our ministry and community services while also serving as a substantial source of income. The expected timeline for this project is parallel to the Tabernacle renovations and will commence pending funding.

PHASE 2   |   EXPAND + IMPROVE

Dining Room + Kitchen Expansion

We need to expand the kitchen and dining room to accommodate the increased capacity of new cottages, the Channel Lodge, and the new banquet space. There will also be needed laundry and IT infrastructure to manage the additional accommodations. These are necessary elements to service the new Channel Lodge project.

2o25-2o27 – Est Cost: $3m

Site Plan Overview

Multi-family units + storage

The current plan is to construct 2-3 new multi-family cottages along Channel Road and potentially in other locations. These additions will significantly enhance  our summer program offerings and expand our  available housing to utilize the new retreat space in the Teen/Office building. Additionally, we will establish a storage facility on the campus to compensate for the loss of winter storage in the Tabernacle.

Channel Lodge

The Channel Lodge is the passionate legacy of Paul Johnson, a longtime Maranatha resident and deep supporter who poured his life’s heart and legacy into our ministry. Located on the Mona Lake Channel, just opposite the tennis courts next to Cambodia, the Channel Lodge will provide an all-encompassing 22-26 room (depending on final size), retreat facility with a stunning state-of-the-art large banquet and meeting space providing a major enhancement to our retreat season offerings. Of course, the additional space will also provide a much-needed and substantial boost for our summer vacation season.
